[Synopsis]
This video is a review about the USB controller adapter for the Nintendo Switch, Playstation 3, and Windows based PC. I tested the following controllers, the Playstation 4 controller on a PS3, and a PS3 controller + PS4 controller on a PC. You have to use the original Playstation 3, Playstation 4, or Xbox one controller. The instructions stated knockoff or 3rd party controllers will not work.
I was looking for an controller adapter I could use on a Playstation 3 with a Playstation 4 controller. You could connect a Playstation 4 controller to a PS3 video game console; however, you can't use a number of features, like the PS button, R2, and L2 trigger buttons. In addition, some games, like Gran Turismo 5 would not work. The rumble feature wouldn't work, but with this adapter the rumble feature works with the Playstation 4 controller on a Playstation 3 video game console.
The USB controller adapter has a built in bluetooth receiver, so you can pair your controller and use it wirelessly as well. I tested this usb controller adapter on a single board computer with Retropie, and that failed to work, because some of the buttons didn't work. I got this to successfully to work on a Windows based PC, and a Playstation 3 which it was advertised to work on. I don't have a Nintendo Switch, but the product manufacturer stated that it would work on a NS as well.
If you own a number of USB controller adapters, you can hook them up to various computers, a Playstation 3, and a Nintendo Switch. You can simply use the same controller to use multiple devices. You can easily connect any of the compatible controllers and use it wirelessly via. bluetooth.
