7I've finally finished the sequel to Swarmer of Everything at last, just in time for Beesmas. When I originally started work on Swarmer of Everything, I was quite invested in Bee Swarm Simulator, but with Onett making so many poor decisions at the time I felt like it would be the perfect parody of Onett's ego and disconnect from the fanbase. It has been a long time since then and I no longer feel as invested into the game, any hopes I have had for Onett improving the game have diminished years ago. Part of my fascination of Bee Swarm Simulator in the first place was my confusion of how Onett could be so disconnected from his fanbase, I thought that there must have been some deep secret as to why he was so inactive and the lore had kept me fascinated.
However, now I think I have come to terms with the fact that Bee Swarm Simulator's potential has long since faded. Onett had the potential to grow his brand into a massive franchise, but every step of the way he chose to neglect his game, burn bridges with his community, and allow it to become infested with bots. There is no real deeper story, the simple answer is that there are just some people who have no ambition to be greater, even with everything set up in life for them to succeed.
Onett took what was the number one game on Roblox and whittled it down to a zombified macro game that only updates as an annual ritual to keep players invested, with his community being reduced to nothing but clickbait Youtubers who dislike Onett and only do it for money, and Discord mods who simply janny away in search of any little drop of clout they can get at the expense of what small portion of fans remain. Truly Onett has committed the worst sin of all, being off dat grindset.
So just as Swarmer of Everything portrays Onett's denial, this meme can be seen as portraying the community's acceptance of our yearly tradition of watching the ritualistic mess of a holiday update. I have more things to do in life now, and quite simply Bee Swarm Simulator is becoming a distant memory of the past, but sometimes it is still enjoyable to keep the holiday tradition of Beesmas coming back.
