So the IMF is really rubbish. yes, okay, the game is over. If I make a plus, the IMF comes around the corner and imposes debts on me. you can't get out of there anymore. If you didn't have a debt right at the start of the game, I would have left immediately. Actually, in the main game you multiply the government shares by the economy. So yes, but as soon as you are in debt it can be multiplied by less than 1. then you can only make losses. Hm. So in the vanilla game that was never a problem...well it's alpha mod too. and surprisingly little war takes place. no atomic bombs were flown. Yes, the cold war was cold. If I hadn't done anything, it would have been an even more boring game. but it was slow enough as it was. The game really needs to be optimized for the late game if possible.
