Er hat unsere sündhafte Welt hinter sich gelassen und tief in der Wildnis und fernab von jeglicher Zivilisation die Stadt Tempel Gate gegründet. Knoth und seine Gemeinde bereiten sich auf die Widrigkeiten des Endes der Zeiten vor und du bist mittendrin.
Du bist Blake Langermann, ein Kameramann und arbeitest mit deiner Frau Lynn zusammen. Ihr seid Enthüllungsjournalisten und dazu bereit, Risiken auf euch zu nehmen und nicht locker zu lassen, um Geschichten aufzudecken, an die sich sonst niemand herantraut.
Ihr seid auf der Spur einer Reihe von Hinweisen, die mit dem scheinbar unmöglichen Mord an einer schwangeren Frau ihren Anfang nahm, die als Jane Doe bekannt war.

You are on the trail of a series of clues that begin with the seemingly impossible murder of a pregnant woman known as Jane Doe.
The investigation has taken you miles into the Arizona desert, into a darkness so black that no light can illuminate it and so full of corruption that perhaps the most sensible thing to do would be to simply go insane.
