Kiryu has decided to rejoin his kids at the orphanage. However he gets arrested because of the events in Yakuza 5 and decides to go to prison to try to erase the stigma of being a former yakuza. While he's gone Haruka leaves to protect the other kids at the orphanage from the media following her around. 3 years later Kiryu is released from prison and is now looking for Haruka, but he finds out something he wasn't expecting.
