If you've ever played with that website that lets you fuse two Pokémon together then you know what monstrosities can be created! Zubat X Mankey gives you the hero we deserve Manbat, put Mr. Mime with a Rhydon and get Mr. Don our new mafia leader.
A reddit user by the name of Migueon22 has created a rom hack of Pokémon Emerald replacing everything found in the Pokédex with a new unique fusion they have custom made the sprite for. They have also updated all the typing's and randomized the move for every Pokémon to give them a move set fitting of their new types.
Although not changing the story or mechanics of this game, this rom hack successfully creates a new experience in Hoenn. Everything you knew is suddenly turned upside down as you have to navigate a huge overhaul on each Pokémon you face. You feel more excited to explore and evolve everything to see all the different Pokémon created.
Pros:
I haven't been so excited running through grass in a long time
Most of the sprites are fantastic with real care taken
It kept the team compositions the same so nothing was too lore breaking
Cons:
Randomised moves makes it very unbalanced early game
Limited to what's available to catch from emerald you can't get them all
