Xenogears is a top notch JRPG on the playstation one, it was developed by tetsuya takahashi and monolith soft. Xenogears started its life as project Noah, an early concept for Final Fantasy VII. It was turned down and was then considered for a Chrono Trigger sequel but was denied again. The game was eventually given the green light to be released as its own game that we know today as Xenogears.
This is my Xenogears review or as I like to call it, my stew review!
Xenogears is a one of a kind JRPG featuring amazing sprite work rendered over fully 3D enviroments. The game features gigantic mechs, FMV cutscenes as well as awesome japanese anime cutcenes.
The game is alot like neon genesis evangelion in that it deals with some mature themes regarding religious themes. It blends it pretty well with some awesome comedic relief like the chuchu transformation scene.
The game also contains a bunch of cool references to things like voltron, 2001 a space odyssey, and mobile suit gundam. All these reasons are why in my opinion we need a xenogears remake or even a xenogears hd remaster!
