Hello, Peter_47890 or Sirus here and welcome to my personal review of Xenosaga episode 1: Der Wille Zur Macht. I wanted to do this review months ago when I was playing through xenoblade since I thought it was fitting. But I got really lazy with it so this review has been on hiatus But I decided to just finish the review since I already done so much work on it. Anyway, I should discuss my overall experience with the xenosaga series. I only really finished the first game and played a bit of the second game but I do plan on playing through the series. t I also plan on replaying the first game since I no longer have the clear data I had on Xenosaga and I want to do the save transfer bonus thing at 2. and replaying 2 since I don't have much memory of the game. but anyway, let's acutally begin the review. Xenosaga is a rpg with turn based combat that was developed by Monolith and published by Namco Bandai.

Platforms: PS2
Developer: Monolith
Publisher: Namco Bandai

Pros
good turn based combat system
great story and characters
progression system is great

Cons
Pacing issues
- story can feel a bit slow at times
- not a good balance of cutscene and gameplay
animation are a bit slow during gameplay
soundtrack can get a bit repetitive(the individual tracks are pretty good but there's really not many of them so there's a good amount of them being played multiple time)

Summary:

Overall, I say Xenosaga episode 1 is a very good game. It has a great story and an interesting cast of characters. The visuals has aged well considering when it was released. The gameplay with the turn based combat is really engaging and has a good amount of depth. The progression system is great. and the customization is pretty good. though there are a good amount of issues with it. Mostly with how the gameplay can feel a bit slow with the slow animations. And it really does have pacing issues with the story being slow at one part and the game not having a balance between story and cutscenes. But even with the issues, I still had a great time with it.

edit: oh dang, I forgot to mention the difficulty of this game D:
anyway, if your reading this. The difficulty is around the normal difficulty though there is a difficulty spike in the last dungeon.(which makes the final dungeon of the game really annoying to me)
