Oyunumuz Frostpunk. Frostpunk bir ‘toplumca hayatta kalma’ oyunu. Buz çağının yaklaştığı fark edildiğinde insanlar kraterlere şehirler kurmaya başlamışlar ve bu şehirleri ısıtmak için dev jeneratörler kurulmuş. Ancak soğuklar beklenenden önce dünyayı vurunca her şey yarım yamalak kalmış. Biz de hayatta kalan bir grup kişinin liderliğini yaparak bu jeneratörlerden birine gidiyoruz ki Yeni Londra ismindeki şehrimizi kuralım. Ancak jeneratöre vardığımızda karşılaştığımız manzara hiç de iç açıcı değil çünkü jeneratör çalışmıyor. İlk iş olarak o soğukta onlarca kişiyi kömür toplamaya gönderiyoruz ki şehrimizin can damarına hayat verelim.

Aslında uzaktan bakınca kulağa çok da zor gelmiyor. Daha önce de şehir yönetmedik mi bir sürü oyunda? Kaynak toplamaya adam gönder, evleri sıcak tut, insanlara yiyecek sağla, hastalananların tedavisini yaptır, mutlu son. Ama Frostpunk bu basit konsepti öyle bir hale getirmiş ki daha oyunun ilk dakikasından başlayarak hiçbir şeye yetişemeyeceğinizi ve hiçbir koşul altında mutlak başarılı olamayacağınızı anlıyorsunuz. İşte bu farkına varış ister istemez olumsuz bir yanı da beraberinde getiriyor: umursamazlık.

Our game is Frostpunk. Frostpunk is a 'social survival' game. When it was realized that the ice age was approaching, people started to build cities in the craters and giant generators were installed to heat these cities. However, when the cold hit the world before expected, everything was left unfinished. We, leading a group of survivors, go to one of these generators so that we can establish our city called New London. However, when we arrived at the generator, the view we encountered was not encouraging because the generator was not working. First of all, we send dozens of people to collect coal in that cold weather so that we can give life to the lifeblood of our city.

Actually, when you look at it from afar, it doesn't sound that difficult. Haven't we managed a city in many games before? Send people to collect resources, keep the houses warm, provide food to the people, get the sick treated, happy ending. But Frostpunk has transformed this simple concept in such a way that from the first minute of the game you understand that you cannot achieve anything and that you cannot be absolutely successful under any circumstances. This realization inevitably brings with it a negative side: indifference.
