Part 18 of my Metroid Prime 2: Echoes Walkthrough.

In this part, we fight off the Boost Guardian and get the Boost Ball back. Then we get the 1st key for this area.

BOOST GUARDIAN
Difficulty: 7/10

The Boost Guardian is the 2nd of the 3 infamous MP2 bosses. The arena is a circular room with 4 pillars that the Boost Guardian can ram into and destroy to reveal health, however there is no light so we'll constantly be losing health.

In terms of battle, the Boost Guardian has it's Ing form, Boost form, and Liquid form. When in Ing form, you will want to fire either charged light shots at it, or Super Missiles. It can get close and use some swiping attacks but that's about it.

In Boost form it will bounce around the room like a pinball and is best dodged by having your back to a wall and jumping when it comes at you.

After a few boosts, it will enter Liquid form and come after you, the best method here, is to turn into Morph Ball and run away while dropping Morph Ball Bombs to damage it. It will switch back to Boost form from here until it receives enough damage from Morph Ball Bombs. Once it does it will go to the center of the room and return to Ing form, where we blast its health bar down and repeat the process.

If you are low on health, the Boost Guardian can destroy the pillars, or you can take out the Inglet's that assist Boost Guardian in the fight. (Use the Dark Beam if you need more Light Ammo.)
