100% Splice - Timed Run with Commentary
35This is a spliced run of 100% in Super Metroid played by me on a Super NES console, with the SD2SNES / FXPak Pro flashcart and the Super Metroid Practice Rom. Each room was played, saved, and then stitched together manually. I recorded 392 Segments, and each Segment loses about 2 frames when you edit out the save state artifacts.
The final RTA time for this run should be around 1:10:17. Details about this are in this upload as I talk about it and refer to it a few times in the commentary.
This run used purely strats that I have done and consistently go for (and have achieved many times) in runs.
As of writing this, my current PB in this category is a 1:13:04, which was World Record when I achieved the run. Zoast beat that time with a 1:12:55 about 6 weeks later, with his Early Powerbombs route, which is identical to this route except for going up red tower to collect Power Bombs before going down to Kraid, so that the Kraid missiles can be obtained in the first pass with no need for a re-visit.
This upload is a 1st Draft, meaning that in the future it may be replaced by other videos in which I have improved individual rooms.
