This MLB franchise has been locked on Sony consoles for years and was the only licensed game for a long time until RBI Baseball came out, but that one sucked.
The Show plays a great game of baseball, though! It has all the fluffy extras that sports simulation games have today, but you can disable them and focus on the gameplay. Pitching, hitting and defense are all intuitive and pleasant. Isn't it cool how the modern game controller has a button layout that looks like a baseball diamond?!
Tons of extra game modes, too, such as Home Run Derby and franchise modes. Dare I say, though, it's so good and polished it kinda loses the fun other arcade baseball games have. Where's the energy of The Bigs? The hilarity of Super Mega Baseball? The motion of MLB Power Pros?
Still, it delivers on its goal. An accurate game of baseball with real players and it makes you feel like you're right on the field!
