A hole new world PS Vita Review
5A hole new world is a game that tries to imitate the old retro console days. And it succeeds. It even gets more creative by having some moving backgrounds, which back in the day wasn’t always the case. Like many older games, you get a story only at the start and finish of the game. Meaning that you get a context, and if you manage to win the game, you get the reward of seeing an end screen with you succeeding.
Gampeplaywise, the gimmick of the story is that the world is split into two. The normal world, and the other whole new world is accessible via a hole. If you fall into a hole the entire game turns upside down. And even if the gimmick is interesting at first I didn’t like it. Especially in the later levels the game bombards you with many enemies which you have to fight upside down. For me it was a frustrating experience more than a fun one.
As for attacks, you’re a potion master. Along the journey you learn like 3 sorts of skills. One is the red robe where you just throw potions, one is the purple one that launches this sort of bombs, and another is the blue robe, that makes fire and ice potions.
In the later levels the game can get frustrating because the game doesn’t necessarily becomes more challenging, it just throws more enemies at you, and you also walk slower, because you’re in the snow.
Overall, the game is a good indie game. It didn’t impress me to be honest, but if it looks interesting to you, you can try it.
