Happy Halloween! In honor of the month of Spooky, I am reviewing Alan Wake 2. I want to clarify a few things about this review.
A. I'm not a fan of the horror genre, but wanted to give the game a try.
B. This game is rated 'M' for mature for a reason.
C. Aside from some gory visuals, there some stuff I can NOT show.
D. I don't want YouTube upset with me, so what I can show is VERY limited.
While the game is called Alan Wake 2, It has had another game on XBOX live, and some DLC and is the same universe of Control, which I reviewed a few years ago and can be seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yr88OFk3YFk
This game takes place 13 years after the events of the first game. Time has passes, and it's weird seeing some familiar places and faces, along with the fact they remembered and make references to the first game. You play as FBI Agent Saga Anderson and Alan Wake, and you have to continue to try to fight off the Darkness.
The inventory storage reminds me of Resident Evil, there have been a lot of changes from the first game. I played the remastered edition from 2021 before this, so It was interesting to pick things up from the first time.
One thing is how they upped the difficulty for this game. And there are some issues that affect the game. I go into a long rant about it in the video in the ISSUES area.
Aperture Games give Alan Wake 2 a 6.5 out of 10.
