Bit vLog #58 - Mario Kart 8 DLC: The Links Effect
10This month brought us the release of Mario Kart 8's first paid DLC. With the addition of Link as a playable character (karter?) November's "The Legend of Zelda × Mario Kart 8" pack has sparked some internet debate. So how did Nintendo do?
Well first and foremost the content is fun. Whilst new racers in the roster don't add much beyond re-skins, the new and reimagined tracks make this worthwhile. The designs are new and innovative, and it refreshes the game and brings back players who had previously hung up their racing gloves.
It's well priced for the content you get and if this is the direction Ninty choose to take with DLC, then I am onboard.
