Having just recently played through Aliens of Gold, which I'd at least partially seen/played in the 90s, I'm finally checking out Planet Strike, which I'd never been exposed to before.

Planet Strike features 20 new levels (plus secret levels), plenty of new music, reskins of the troop units from Aliens of Gold, a couple of repeat robot/mutant enemies, and also repurposes multiple AoG bosses as regular enemies. On top of that there's a handful of new bosses... and we finally get to fight Goldfire!

Most of the weaponry is unchanged in terms of behavior, though the weapons have a new coat of paint, and there's one new weapon... which chews up ammo even faster than the plasma discharge unit.

By far the most significant changes involve the map. The map is now always present in the HUD, and can be zoomed in (at the cost of a new energy resource) to see enemies and even secrets - meaning I don't have to spend a ton of time hugging walls anymore, which makes this far more enjoyable. However, the map continues to have one critical weakness: it still doesn't show any indication for teleporters... which is even more important in Planet Strike since those are the only mode of transportation whatsoever (there are no elevators).

Table of Contents:

00:00 - Intro / help files / lore
13:41 - Areas 1-5
1:28:32 - Areas 6-10
3:31:08 - Revisit to earlier areas for Secret 1
3:56:45 - Areas 11-15
5:29:21 - Areas 16-20
