We do a quick roundup of tears and marks we hadn't gotten before, then head to the Sea of Ink toward the newly-risen area, the Sunken Cathedral.
Breaking to boss-mold, Odon of the Confraternity of Salt tries to take us out before we even get there, then beats a hasty retreat after taking a bit of damage.
The Sunken Cathedral is a thing of many layers and shortcuts, but also hides a few nice prizes. First, we find the wandering merchant, and buy one item from him now, and another much later on our way out.
Then, we solve a quick puzzle and are rewarded with an upgrade for the Veredicto! It is now max level!
Then, we get the Salt-covered Spear Point, which goes on our rosary to give us more physical damage resistance than our old Scratched Lead Sphere.
Next: another Ornate Chalice for the Bloody Lady, after a quick arena fight.
With that wrapped up, we confront Odon again, for real. He's a little challenging, since he has several wave attacks, a dragoon-drop, summons minions, and can give those minions invulnerability. Still: he dead now, though none of his attacks had any sound effects. Maybe a glitch in the early game build?
And, once again, on our way out we clear out the wandering merchant of inventory.
