BLS - Sam Beamon Drives A Class 33 At Swanage (Swanage Railway Class 33 Driver Experience)
23A little boys dream comes true as he embarks on a journey to the Swanage Railway for there Class 33 Driver Experience Event. Since the age of 3 to 5 years old Samuel Beamon has wanted to drive a diesel locomotive along the Swanage Railway and on the 8th March 2024 thanks to Sylvia Beamon his loving grandmother who sadly passed away in 2021 this goal in life was met.
Samuels Nan wanted the money she gave to her grand children to go towards something very important to them in there lives and what will make them happy. Nothing was more important to Sam then the Swanage Railway, The place what made him who he is today and the place where his hobby of railways and locomotives was born, This day was special in two ways the first being that it was on the Railway Sam has dreamt of driving along but also it meant a lot to him that his nan got him this opportunity.
The video features Sam driving Class 33 Crompton 33111 on a demonstration engineers train service from Swanage to Norden and back, Although Sam's favourite locomotive at Swanage is in actual fact Class 33 number D6515 "Lt Jenny Lewis RN" to even get the opportunity to drive a class 33 in general on the Swanage Railway was a real treat.
A special thanks goes to the kind staff of the Swanage Railway for allowing filming of this experience and who were also very informative and professional on the day of this driver experience lots was learnt on how to successfully operate a goods train along this scenic heritage railway.
