99Moves video review. Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of 99Moves on the eShop for the Nintendo Wii U developed and published by EnjoyUp Games.
99Moves wasn’t released in 1979, but it feels like it might’ve been. This is an arcade-styled action game with a simple, self-explanatory premise—beat the level in less than 99 moves. Controlling a little pixel named V-99, you have to navigate complex mazes and avoid enemies on your way to the exit at the end of each level. This is easier said than done, particularly when the passageways are about as wide as V-99 himself. With all new modes and multiplayer on the Wii U version, 99Moves is like Pac-Man meets the mobile game Snake meets the style of the late-seventies arcade. And that’s awesome.
