Chex Quest, desarrollado pro Digital Café, es un juego que se regaló con los cereales Chex en USA en 1996, y estaba desarrollado con el idTech 1 (el motor de Doom). No deja de ser como un mod TC del juego de id, pues no hay ningún avance ni cambio en el motor y se nota que por ejemplo las armas con las mismas con otro aspecto, aunque los enemigos sí difieren más. Sea como sea, es un juego con un estilo muy cartoon y es divertido, mientras dura, pero claro, al estar destinado a niños, es extremadamente fácil incluso en la dificultad equivalente a Ultra Violence. Alguien con experiencia en FPS se lo puede acabar fácilmente en menos de media hora (son solo 5 mapas).
Al año siguiente se lanzó una secuela en la página web de los cereales. Y en 2008 una 3ª entrega desarrollado por exmiembros del equipo de desarrollo original.
En 2020 se lanzó Chex Quest HD, un remake oficial del primer juego hecho con el motor Unreal 4, que se puede descargar gratis en Steam. Muestro ambos completos, el original y el remake, en este vídeo.

Chex Quest, developed by Digital Cafe, is a game that was given away with Chex cereals in USA in 1996, and was developed with idTech 1 (Doom engine). It's more like a licensed TC mod, as there is no enhancements nor changes in the engine and it's noticeable that, for example, the weapons are the same with a different skin, although the enemies differ more. In any case, it is a game with a very cartoon style and is fun, while it lasts, but of course, because it was intended for children, it is extremely easy even on the difficulty equivalent to Ultra Violence. Someone with experience in FPS can easily finish it in less than half an hour (there are only 5 maps).
The following year a sequel was released on the cereals website. And in 2008 a 3rd installment developed by former members of the original development team.
In 2020 was released Chex Quest HD, an official remake of the first game made with the Unreal 4 engine, which can be downloaded for free on Steam. I show both complete, the original and the remake, in this video.
