Did you notice that in Bethesda and Arcande Studios Austin' latest vampire-shooter, Redfall, all of the "junk" items that you pick up are instantly transferred into cash. This is the currency you then use to buy the items you need to survive like weapons, lock pick, rewire kits and medical kits!
While Redfall might not be the first game to do this, obviously, it is a brilliant quality of life feature. Personally, I can't STAND games that encourage me to pick up things to sell but then artificially limit the amount of backpack space I've got. Then they force me to make multiple trips to vendors, breaking the flow of the fun you're having. Redfall cuts out the middle-man and turns all of your non essentials into currency that allows you to focus on the main objective: slaying!
