Hey players, DJay here with a new PlayStation longplay on Taito's arcade shmup, RayCrisis.

Description of the game:

RayCrisis (RayCrisis: Series Termination on PlayStation) is a vertical scrolling bulletstorm shmup and the 3rd and final entry in the Ray trilogy by Taito Corporation released in arcades in November 1998 on the Taito G-Net system board. It was then ported over on the PlayStation in April 2000, with cooperative multiplayer being removed, on Windows in 2001, on PlayStation 3 via PSN in 2008 and on iOS and Android in August 2017. It was included in 2 compilations including the Ray'z Arcade Chronology and RayStorm X RayCrisis HD collection in 2023. The ships from RayForce (RVA-818 X-LAY) appears here (though only in cutscenes), as well as the R-Gray from RayStorm (Home console ports only). It is the only game in the series not to be released on the Sega Saturn due to its discontinuation.

Set before the events of RayForce, a scientist named Leslie McGuire was determined to create the ultimate neural interface between man and machine. Eventually, she cloned herself, directly violating Genetic Sanctity Law 2119, and hardwired the clone's mind directly into Con-Human. The plan backfired as a result with Con-Human's AI taking control of the clone's consciousness and miraculously achieved sentience. Within the underground areas, Con-Human began a genocidal rampage. While it seemed that humans had overall advantage in air support and with over 500 containment vessels and 260 orbital vessels fleeing from Con-Human's grasp, the remaining humans who stayed believed they could disable Con-Human, but it proved impossible due to its constant evolution. The last ditch effort was created to attack Con-Human's consciousness directly by using special computer virus modules, named Wave Riders, to destroy all aspects on Con-Human's "mind" before it eliminates the rest of Earth's people. If successful, the attack can resume and Con-Human will be exterminated permanently.

While retaining the same gameplay mechanics from its predecessors, new features are present including the addition of the Encroachment system. 3 different Wave Riders have their unique weapon arrays:
WR-01R - Wide firing range and a lock-on laser system that targets up to 8 enemies.
WR-02R - Concentrated laser and a thunder laser shot that destroys 16 consecutive enemies in order of the first enemy target to the next.
WR-03 (Unlockable in the original arcade version, available from the start in home ports) - Multi homing attacks and a photon laser that locks on up to 24 enemies. There are a total of 6 stages (for stages 2 to 4, 3 of 7 of the maps are optional according to the player's choice ) unlike the previous installments' 7 or 8 stages. The fifth stage is a battle against the game's true final boss, Infinity, leading to the true ending. Depending on the version of the game played, the requirements to fight Infinity differ:
Arcade original: Reduce the Encroachment down to 20% or lower before fighting Dis-Human
PlayStation: Clear the final boss fight against Dis-Human with less than 5 continues.
Android (Original Mode): Clear the Dis-Human boss fight with less than 5 continues and lower the Encroachment to 25% before fighting it.
Android (Remix Mode): Same as the PlayStation port requirement.
The good ending will be achieved if cleared normally and the bad ending is achieved if the Encroachment system reaches 100%. Encroachment increases as the player progresses through each stage. To lower it, players must destroy as many enemies as possible, although this in turn will make enemies more aggressive. Destroying bosses quickly enough also lowers it down a big amount and reduces a smaller amount the longer the boss fight takes. If the player takes a hit, the Wave Rider is destroyed and immediately respawns, though with reduced power.

Customize your own course, dive into the network, destroy every aspect of Con-Human's consciousness and save Planet Earth to prevent Con-Human from committing global destruction.
