A remake of the arcade game in an unspecified engine, even going so far as to recreate the 2-player and coin mechanics. The graphics are uprezzed to nebulous benefit, and the notoriously finicky jumps in the arcade original are even more precise here.

This video covers both known releases of the game; there are two versions of the game floating around, one dated May 9th 2004, commonly found on freeware websites, and another on Boolean Games' site dated June 29th 2005. The 2004 version is evidently a work-in-progress, lacking sounds and clean-up on a number of graphics, and noticeably missing the blue sparks in level 3.
The 2005 release remedies those omissions* and would probably be the definitive version... if it weren't for the fact it's completely missing enemy collision detection. Junior can walk through any hazard unharmed! At first I thought it had simply made the hitboxes more forgiving, but nope, it's just plain missing. The only way for Junior to die is to fall from a height or into a pit.

The readme claims it was made for the Retro Remakes Spring 2003 competition, but I can't find any evidence of it among the listings. Wherever it was first published, it seems the older version is what got mirrored on most other sites.
