- Analysis:
• After playing as Zhong Hui, there are a combination of ways to build him and still be effective. The thing about Zhong Hui is he is very blessed with the given moveset and EX weapon. Qualities like good refill potential, high combo generating game throughout his kits (thanks to the FIVE swords) and nice utility options makes him standout from most characters.
• For Weapon 1 in this video, thanks to his excellent combo refill and Triumph, Roar on Zhong Hui isn't necessary for him to sustain his Musou offense since he can frequently enter Rage to replenish it all back. In general, his Normal Strings provides more benefits than just damage compared to his Musou offense, however, Musou still serves as a strong damage burst if he needs it, hence why Aggression is in the setup. In the end, Weapon 1 is a Musou, Normal Strings and refill all-in-one weapon. Depending on the playstyle, all that remains is to give him a bit of a push on which direction he wants to focus on for Weapon 2.
- Movesets:
• Normal Strings with S2-repeat possesses very wide swings. His S2 has a property in which it stuns and slows enemies for longer duration than normal (6:11, Teng Yin is unable to recover and block). Enemies won't be able to recover in time, allowing Zhong Hui to S2-repeatedly without fail for an easy and swift KO. In a crowd, S2-repeat is also a very good way to refill Rage with Weapon 1 (6:10). S2-repeat stun and refill strategy won't work too well on Weapon 2 because of Induction + Explosive, but it will do a lot more damage.
• C1-EX with Weapon 1 is able to refill a good portion of Musou and Rage. Zhong Hui can use this whenever he wants a accessible refill (4:20).
• Musou 2 is his most consistent Musou for damage. There are three ways to setup Musou 2, first one being attack bait strategy (5:33). The method to ensure maximum damage is to go up to an officer and have Zhong Hui's back face towards them, doing this will have Zhong Hui's back act as a "wall" (10:54). The other way (less consistent way) is to use his Switch Attack (SA) and immediately transition into Musou 2 to catch them somersaulting (2:30). Although SA method is less consistent, it is the safest way to unblock multiple officers at once during pileups and whatnot (1:42).
• Air Musou (not used in this video) is an unblockable Musou that can deal very good damage depending on how high he jumps. The main attraction for this Musou is that it is unblockable, making it a good alternative option to refill his Rage within a pile of shield peons while dealing respectable damage.
• Jump Charge (JC) is his fast travel method that outspeeds Red Hare. With Velocity, it is fast enough to be used to chain a Musou 2 back-to-back (9:33, failed attempt though).
• C3-EX improvised strategy from S2-repeat can be employed to grab and prevent officers from succeeding their Hyper Armor SA since it is better for Zhong Hui to have a neutral or advantageous Affinity over enemy officers for S2-repeat offense to perform at its best.
- Option(s):
• Havoc over Accuracy is my preferred choice for Zhong Hui. Since I prioritize Rage refilling as my playstyle, Havoc will not only improve his range, but will also indirectly support his Rage combo refilling by a noticeable amount, allowing him to abuse/bank Rage to increase his overall performance. The tradeoff with Havoc over Accuracy is a noticeable dip in damage with Normal Strings.
• Zhong Hui can use a Pure Musou weapon setup: Fury, Flurry, Frenzy, Aggression, Velocity, Roar(?) is a Musou focused setup dealing up to ~80% to super officers with his 6th weapon. I have Roar listed with a (?) since it can be replaced with Triumph, Jubilation, or anything he wants. Having Roar in the setup will allow him to take advantage of True Rage Musou, which is pretty strong, but slightly on the slower side.
