55The world of Earth-land is home to a plethora of guilds where wizards use their magic to fulfill paid job requests. Natsu Dragneel, a Fairy Tail guild Dragon Slayer wizard, searches the Kingdom of Fiore for his missing adoptive father, the dragon Igneel. During his journey, he meets Lucy Heartfilia, a young celestial wizard, and invites her to join Fairy Tail. Other guild members join Natsu, Lucy, and the cat-like Exceed Happy to form a team, which is joined by Gray Fullbuster, an ice wizard; Erza Scarlet, a magical knight; and Wendy Marvell and Carla, another Dragon Slayer and Exceed duo. The group undertakes a number of missions together, including the capture of criminals, illegal dark guilds, and ancient Etherious demons created by Zeref, a wizard cursed with immortality and lethal power.
