NCU 04 (No Crystarium Usage)
"Caius (Story)"


- This is to those who think you need to level up (use Crystarium) or get high type pets to beat this boss. I did minimal monster infusion nor have any leveling (this is NCU after all).

The hardest part about this fight is when he gets his buffs and his "random" Blast Waves. I don't know if there's a specific pattern, but sometimes it will only hit one character, other times is two, other times is everyone.

Obviously if it hits both Serah and Noel while he is buffed, you are pretty much dead unless the damage didn't hit you as much.

You will need ATB-Canceling at the end to drop his HP down quick since you will be reviving and healing at the end due to his higher damaging attacks.

I don't think I needed to revive my Mini-Flan at the end, I probably could've ATB-Cancel one more time for the finishing blow before he kills someone again honestly. Waste of 1200 gil, phoenix down is hard to get since I'm not farming for cash.

My current stats and monsters used is shown at the end if you're interested to know.


- NCU means "No Crystarium Usage" where you DO NOT place or upgrade a single crystarium on your characters and pets.

This challenge was originally started by me on the FF13 Japanese version (you can see my NCU attempts in my FF13 playlist). But unlike the other NCU players that beaten both FF13 and FF13-2, I have one additional rule for myself since I am a very busy guy.

This rule is having lack of grinding (cash for weapons/items, passive skills transfers, etc).

Obviously with this rule I will have major setbacks and won't do as well or as fast as much better players like Masabade (he has all FF13-2 NCU boss battles).
