All joking aside, the release of the very first Fire Emblem game in North America should have been a momentous occasion due to the historical importance of Fire Emblem Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light. Instead, the seminal tactical role-playing game has been mired in controversy due to Nintendo's decision to make the game available for a limited, currently unspecified period of time. Amidst all this controversy, one important question remains unanswered: Does the very first Fire Emblem game ever made, Fire Emblem Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light, hold up to this day?
