Back before Pokémon became the cult phenonium that we've all known for 25 years and counting, Game Freak was making games that spanned multiple genres besides role-playing throughout the 90s, one of which was the platformer Pulseman for the SEGA Genesis. Released in 1994, Pulseman wasn't a worldwide success like Pokémon Red and Blue would be two years later, and the game itself is often seen as more a footnote in Game Freak's history, but is that perspective representative of the quality of the title itself?
