Playthrough with Rock. This is the last Neo Geo Fatal Fury game, and it was released in 1999. It features almost an entirely new roster of characters, with only Terry Bogard returning as a playable fighter. The game is set 10 years after the events of the first Real Bout game, and the story is about a new King of Fighters tournament hosted by Kain.

Mark of the Wolves plays very differently than the previous game. The plane switching, one of the main features of the series, has been removed entirely. The controls now have two buttons for punches and two for kicks -a control scheme that hadn't been seen since Fatal Fury 3. Desperation attacks are also absent, so you can no longer repeatedly use super moves when low on health. Instead you can fill up a super gauge (which has two different levels). Unlike in the Real Bout games, once you've filled up the gauge, it won't reset until you've used a super move.

One of the main new features is the "Just Defended" blocking method. By blocking an attack late, you can "just defend" it and gain some health back. It's very similar to parrying in Street Fighter III, only you have to tap back rather than forward. The other main new feature is the T.O.P. system. You can set part of your life bar to be able to use T.O.P., once you reach this, you'll do more damage and the ability to do a T.O.P. move.

This game features two bosses. To get Kain to appear, I believe you have to play through the game and get an average grade rank of AAA overall. It's ok to lose rounds though. To get better ranks, you need to defeat your opponents as quickly as possible. With Rock this isn't too hard to do, and even the bosses tend to fall victim to his jumping strong punch.
