Hunt for the Shadow Rider - Linux FOSS game review
I delved into the open-source game "Hunt for the Shadow Rider", licensed under GPL3. The game sets the player on a mission to capture a rogue Shadow Rider who has escaped to the year 2078. Developed for Open Jam 2019, this game is relatively new, with its code available on GitHub. Suitable for Windows and Linux, the game is also playable in a chromium-based browser. I played it through the itch store, which provides a convenient platform to experience web games directly.

The game itself isn't overwhelmingly intricate, but it offers an engaging atmosphere. It revolves around navigating through levels with pixel art aesthetics, reminiscent of the synthwave vibe and a touch of Blade Runner, all while trying to catch the elusive Shadow Rider. The controls are keyboard-based, featuring simple directions and firing commands. Throughout my playthrough, I particularly appreciated the game's visuals and its catchy soundtrack.
