Is Evelyn Okay? | Cyberpunk 2077 | Episode 5
1With one of our closest friends Jackie Welles no longer with us, I feel like I can safely assume that everyone is on the table for perhaps… well not surviving! Shame that I thought Cyberpunk was going to be all pew, pew with no emotions and given that the other game that I’m streaming is FFXIV, I feel the next few months will potentially be filled with tears.
Luckily with Cyberpunk, I have the option to focus on other things such as attacking innocent civilians or taking on side quests and heists to make extra cash, so I can see myself often switching my focus to let my more chaotic side out… you’re welcome.
Last episode we met a man called Fingers who has been working on several Joytoys, though it seems he has been giving them not only bad parts, but the absolute worst parts leading me to want to… err… unalive him. Though at the time I simply wanted to check if he was still breathing, I kept him alive after reloading a quick save though I really wish I hadn’t.
For context, he was the last person to see our friend Evelyn before she went off as he had worked on her and when we saw the last recording of her she didn’t seem so well, perhaps due to faulty parts.
Though I would be genuinely surprised if Evelyn is in really bad shape and won’t make it, I can’t be certain since my streak of guessing stories correctly doesn’t seem to be going well lately.
With Judy by our side, we’re setting off now to go looking for her. Judy in particular isn’t doing well emotionally. She seems to feel responsible for the condition Evelyn is in and while Evelyn is her own person who is capable of making her own decisions, I do understand feeling some responsibility for not watching over someone.
On the flip side of the story, we seem to be engaging with Johnny much more than I thought we would. He seems to be a regular occurrence, with our last major conversation being about how he wants to help me. I’m currently playing with the mindset that we cannot trust him, but I have a bit of an underlying feeling that I’m being a bit too hasty. There are a few reasons that Johnny may want me to remain alive and help him, the most poignant being that since he requires my body currently to survive, he may be hopeful that we will find a way to remove him from my being so he can live as a free man once more. I am uncertain how advanced Cyber technology is, but perhaps there are capabilities of building a full bionic body to implant a Biochip into though I can’t say I’m tremendously hopeful that this is a reality. Even if it were a possibility, we cannot be fully certain that Johnny is someone who would be safe to have marching around town.
