Is Hydaelyn actually a Baddy? | FFXIV Shadowbringers MSQ | Part 16
1The last time we played FFXIV we were given a great deal of backstory as to how we got here, learning more about the story of Hydaelyn, her summoning and who had to be given up to fuel her heart.
During this time, we also learned that one named Elidibus became the heart of Zodiark, however, we are unsure whether or not this is the Elidibus we have come to know or if it was another person and the Elidibus we have come to know simply has followed in the footsteps of his namesake.
Speaking of Elidibus, he has stepped forward and has started showing some of his cards regarding what the future may look like for the people of Novrandt. To this point, we know that Elidibus has been encouraging the inhabitants of Novrandt to become Warriors of Light and though it was always safe to assume that the reasoning is for evil, I’m beginning to believe that the answer is so obvious… flood the world with Light once more to usher in the calamity.
Much like Emet Selch, Elidibus has made us aware that he can create visions and showed the people of Novrandt a vision of Hydaelyn’s start showers while she said her catchphrase “Hear… Think… Feel…” to make them believe that they had specifically been chosen to be Warriors of Light. As there is still a risk about letting the people know that this is actually an Ascian’s doing and not our dear friend Ardbert it is in our best interest to gently steer people in the right direction rather than forcefully break the news and potentially cause more harm than good.
