Jack Daniel's Bottle Augmented Reality Experience First Look (iOS)
In this video, I reviewed Jack Daniel's AR Experience for iOS by Brown-Forman. This augmented reality (AR) experience worked with Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey bottle from 50mL to 1.75L bottles. It features beautiful hand-crafted virtual folding-paper presentation and animations, voice over, music and sound effects for an immersive experience. It tells the stories that make the Jack Daniel's brand so special.
I had a great time with this experience and it showed me the great potential of immersive media to deliver unique AR experience as part of the shopping experience.
AR technology used in this manner can help increase engagement, provide detailed, contextualize and even personalized information to shoppers as they browse through the products on the shelves. With AR glasses this would be a no-brainer, but as for now, experiencing it using a phone is not convenient. That being said, it gives you a glimpse of what AR technology software enables for on-location shopping experiences and how it can help improve the overall shopping experience. More detailed article or video will follow, talking about the many aspects of how these type of technologies can benefit brands and consumers alike.
Among the advantages of such presentation are a dynamic pulling of updates data from the cloud, apply personalized warnings or recommendations (e.g. if the user is allergic to an ingredient, warn that user), price comparison, optimized dynamic and interactive content delivery compared to the video equivalent, modular 3d presentation that compliments the product thus increasing engagement and sales, etc. There are many other advantages that benefit consumers and brands and I will talk more about it in the next video. I get more in-depth about dozens of other advantages. So stay tuned.
TIP: If you don't have the bottle, you can try it out on images of the bottle, just google it and try it on an image.
