Student council president Miyuki Shirogane and vice president Kaguya Shinomiya appear to be a perfect match in Shuchiin Academy's senior high school division. Miyuki is the top student at the school and well-known throughout the prefecture, and Kaguya is the daughter of a wealthy conglomerate family. They like each other but are too proud to confess their feelings because they believe whoever does so first will lose. The plot revolves around their various schemes to get the other to confess or at least show signs of affection.
