Lets Play Creativerse: Diggin' up some Obsidian - Episode #3
4Diggin’ deeper and deeper, time to push on!
Hey everyone, welcome aboard, and welcome to another episode of Freddy Plays Creativerse!
This game has been such a blast to get around, and you still have no idea how hard it is for me to not play this whilst I’m not recording. I just want to get in and explore everything! But, I will retrain myself, and try to only do it with you guys on film. Ok, that sounded weird, but I’m sure you get my meaning!
Creativerse, like Minecraft, is a HUGE open world sandbox, letting the player collect resources to build and CREATE-iverse (sorry, I had to) pretty much what ever they can imagine! My only problem is that I don’t have much of an imagination! So I’ll build some blocky rooms, throw in some mood lighting and a few containers, and call it a day! I’m more about the exploring caves and squishing enemies! Anyhow, much like in other games falling into this vein, daylight is your friend, and the nastier critters come out at night. Like in MOST games, the nastier critters drop the better loot, so at some point, you’re inevitably going to be fighting big scary monsters so you can upgrade those threads, and pimp out that weapon.
Todays episode has me fighting scary monsters, perhaps running away from said scary monsters, and doing a little mining! I did manage to unlock a couple of new recipes, and there are a few new additions to the Treehouse of Solitude, with more changes to come (including a roof!). I need to work out how to get the materials for some of the better weapons, and I’ve been told that I need to start killing some of the tougher monsters to do this, so that’s definitely going to have to be a thing moving forward! I also managed to dig up a little obsidian, which is one of those materials i need in order to ake the btter gear, so at least we're on the right track!
Let me know if you like the Treehouse by the way, I’m open to making a couple of changes and or additions! It’s a nice change of pace from 7 Days to Die, that the enemies don’t randomly attack all your possessions and walls, so I can finally have some nice things! It’s probably one of the more annoying aspects from 7DTD, when you’re all cosy and snug inside your mansion, and you can hear a zombie trying to break down a random section of your main support structure for NO REASON! The day to day leaf and pig critters in Creativerse tend to keep to themselves mostly, which suits me just fine!
Creativerse is a great, free, game to if you’ve been looking into Minecraft, but aren’t yet sold. Or even if you are a first timer, and want to dip your toes in the pool before dropped a $20 canon ball! If you have some time to kill, and have a game shaped hole in your life, I would recommend you guys give this one a crack! You can find it on steam for free, which is the version you’re watching me play, and if you feel like supporting the team behind it, dropping a few bucks into the game will unlock you a few odds and ends. A bigger backpack, better mining glove etc.
