I bet we were having a blast being a big pile of bones on a shattered throne, but no, apparently we need to come back to life to save our kingdom and our subjects. How did we end up as a big pile of bones? No idea, but we've been like that for at least 50 years. In any case it's time to wield our trusty scepter and start bashing baddies.
Whilst Kingsgrave is a bit light on the narrative, it's got plenty of stuff to do to fill the void. You are tasked with saving the kingdom, and you do that through a variety of metroidvania-style equipment locks, as well as various combat arenas, puzzles to solve, and all-round exploration. There's new weapons to get, upgrades to unlock, buildings to build, and torches to light. There's a slew of interesting puzzle and combat mechanics to keep your brain going as well.
