we are about to be introduced to the characters, Kitana, Jade, and Mileena and use that term very loosely as they dont really have a character in this game. Kitana gets the most screen time and dialogue among the 3 girls but all three of them are immediately taken out of the story for almost the entire thing until just before the very end of the entire game. Liu Kang also has an immediate boner for Kitana upon meeting her, as displayed in a probably unintentionally funny scene where he starts rizzing her up as soon as she attacks him. I dont really care for how this game did Jade honestly. She doesnt say a word in this and she doesnt take the same role she did in everything else where she's Kitana's best friend who wasnt under mind control but rather aided Kitana until Kitana defects to the earthrealm side and Jade begrudgingly joins her later because she doesnt know about Kitana's actual history with Shao Kahn about as much as Kitana does. Mileena is fine. there is a little bit of exposition that i thought was done well enough after you beat the girls but again it doesnt mean anything because all 3 of them are immediately taken out of the rest of the game after this.
