Raident's ending feels like a call back to his original MK1 days where he didnt give a fack and just destroyed every world and realm just because he could. Armageddon raiden is actually interesting in the potential that in had in NRS. It was an idea in midways world that im kinda satisfied with how it ended. Its a concept that almost comes back in the NRS stories but they never truly do. Midway needed to stop making characters who just hit hard instead of focusing on combos. i dont like when i throw a forward punch with raiden that he's wide open if it gets blocked when i want to follow up with another attack. i've had trouble with raiden ever since mk deadly alliance where he has HANDS DOWN the hardest full chain combo to do in that game. He hasnt really gotten much easier to use here either. Raiden has been around since MK 1 where he entered the tournament to prove how powerful he is as a god showing that he's quite full of himself, till mk 2 when he's a little more humbled and wants to protect the earthrealm progessively getting more invested in their fight against evil till everyone dies in deadly alliance and even reviving the body of liu kang for no particular reason. he unalives himself in deception but is reincarnated now with the essence of Onaga corrupting him to the point he's just there to f**k shit up. NRS reboots the story taking place after the events of armageddon where raiden and kahn are at the top and blaze has been killed by kahn giving him all the power, forcing raiden to restart the timeline just before getting his head smashed in by kahn's hammer. Raiden continues to f**k up in the mk 9 story till plot tills him he can save everyone but at the cost of almost all of earth's heroes. MKX was cool where raiden kinda stays out of the events only being a person the heroes can turn to for advice till raiden occasionally gets involved by having to fight his fallen warriors (Again) before getting trapped by shinnok. MK11 he plays a major role now with the connection to elder gods and liu kang and i dont mind it. its actually interesting to see him become a human by the end of it. Im not sure how i feel about raiden in MK1 being seemingly much smaller and less intimidating than the original. i dont hate it but it diverts quite a bit from the raiden i know.
