Chrono Cross in many ways is a sequel to Chrono Trigger, but also its own entirely unique thing, with new unique characters, battle systems, and world.

Squaresoft (Or... Square Enix) has a history of not keeping a games formula from 1 series entry to the next, and this game is certainly no exception.

Was all of the changes worth it?

Some people prefer this game over Chrono Trigger, but are they even very comparable? So youtubers have even gone so far to call this the best RPG / JRPG ever. Is there merit to that idea?
