The second difficulty level, 100cc, is where things start to get real with this game. The CPU racers are much more competent, they can more adequately use items, and Blue Shells can actually appear now. This is also when the rubber banding really starts to kick in. The tracks that have special modifications for 50cc difficulty now use their default versions. For instance, there are now side roads on the Luigi Circuit track that lead to easy items and protection. Just watch out for the Chain Chomp! Baby Park was also much more chaotic, as it should be!
