Before I begin, I'd like to make a quick correction to my previous entry's description. I was actually at 53%, rather than 57%. It doesn't really matter in the long run, but I figured I'd mention it -- if only because I think I pointed that out at the start of this recording.

Welp, this is it. This is the farthest I've ever made it in Kirby 64. Granted, it's been so long that I've forgotten most of the game, but I do recall reaching Shiver Star... but not actually beating the fifth world way back in the day. So, from here on out, it's all completely new territory for me. Though, again, I don't really remember much of my abandoned run years ago, so most of the game *feels* new anyway.

I feel like a bit of a hypocrite for not complaining about this game's tendency to recycle hiding spots for the crystal shards in each level, when reusing objectives was one of my biggest pet peeves for KDL3. That being said, it was pretty annoying trying to backtrack for certain combinations early on. But once I finished the first level in Shiver Star, I basically have an easy shortcut to every ability I could possibly need -- even if that requires trudging through the tedious process of backtracking. That should mean that the final batch of crystals should be a piece of cake... even if the game continues to use that "trick" of not providing the necessary abilities within the stage itself.

I originally considered getting the bad ending first by missing out on one of the shards in the final world, then reloading the save and grabbing it later on... but it doesn't seem like there's much demand for seeing that, so I guess I'll just head straight to the true ending, much like I did with Dream Land 3.

All the same, I'm a bit angry about how both of these Kirby games are going to end up taking as long as Wario Land II... but it doesn't really matter.
