There's... really not much to say about this one. The fact that I finished things up before midnight should really tell you more than any walls of text ever could. Thinking back, it might have been worth trying to wrap things up on Sunday. After all, only Miracle Matter really gave me any trouble. But on the other hand, this did at least give me the opportunity to "reset" my schedule back to normal. Let's see how long that lasts.

Honestly, the oddest part of Ripple Star is that its first stage was essentially a retread of the first level in the entire game. I was worried that the second stage was going to be the same thing as the third Pop Star level... but fortunately, that wasn't the case. The third (and apparently final) level of the bunch was just weird. In some ways, it reminded me of those mini-boss rushes you'll often see near the end of a Kirby game -- natch -- but you just fought a gauntlet of standard enemies in each room instead. That's just... incredibly weird.

That being said, considering how short of a run this was, I do sort of regret not showing off the bad ending. Granted, there's really not much to it... and it was actually thematically appropriate, since I went for the true ending from the start in the other two Dark Matter trilogy games -- yes, even Kirby's Dream Land 2. In the end, I decided to watch it on my own after the stream out of curiosity. Honestly, there really wasn't that much to it. Kirby and his friends go home on a flying saucer and it turns out that the queen of Ripple Star is still possessed by Dark Matter. Collecting all of the Crystal Shards cures her and lines up the final segment.

I'm still a little shocked that the true final boss was so much easier than Miracle Matter. Of course, I also saw how you're "supposed" to fight the World 6 boss... and honestly, I made it way harder than it had to be by focusing of spitting the corresponding items back at Miracle Matter instead of just absorbing them and attacking like crazy. It seems like you shouldn't have enough time to do everything... but that's where the mix ability comes into play. I feel like an idiot for handling that fight the way I did, but on the other hand, I guess some people fight Kirby bosses like that for street cred... so whatever.

Oh, and apparently the game recognized my completion as 100%, despite the fact that I didn't collect all of the enemy cards or play the boss rush. I'm totally okay with that.
