The game was released on March 7, 2023 developed by an indie studio called The Deep End Games. It was funded by a successful kickstarter campaign which raised $216,889 United States dollars.\n\nTake a bite into Romancelvania, a darkly comic genre mashup, combining side-scrolling action and tongue-in-cheek romance into one completely absurd and unforgettable adventure.\n\nPlay as a lovelorn, brooding Drac who, after a century of moping around post-heartbreak, is thrown into a monster reality-dating show, hosted by the Grim Reaper! Explore Transylvania’s perilous countryside as you slay absurd baddies on your hunt for the most eligible monsters. Will Drac find “Love at first Bite”, or will he discover “Love Sucks”?\n\nRomancelvania is a mix between a 2D Platformer and a dating sim. This makes it perfect for those looking for a bit of action with a side of romance.\n\nThe game has 4 main weapons that are unlocked as you play. A sword, a hammer, a whip, and an impaler. You can also level up the damage and unlock unique powers to help you during combat.\n\nThe difficulties range from Nibble, Bite, and Chomp (Easy, Normal, Hard).\n\nAs you go about the game, you'll face various enemies with different strategies to take them down. Overall, the gameplay isn't too difficult outside of a few unique boss fights, but it can be a bit of a punishment if you die and haven't saved in awhile, especially later in the game. In order to save, there are various checkpoints throughout the game to do so, as well as sometimes a gracious Grim Reaper that plops you down at a fair point in between.\n\nAs a dating sim part, there are a few other romantic systems at play like romance level system allowing you to favor one monster or another (and unlock perks that come with them) and you can do so in many ways. Some monsters have unique quests that you have to complete in order to choose them at the end of the game and some even have limited dating locations you can bring them to. The dating locations themselves also have a limit on how many times you can use them, meaning you could waste your dates on someone less favorable and end up stuck without your one true love, so be careful on who you choose to date and where you take them.\n\nAdditionally, there's gift mechanics to help you level up monsters, treats and tricks to help you more during combat, and other fun surprises as you play the game including elimination rounds and quarrels/love triangles that you have to resolve.\n\n - https://romancelvania.fandom.com/wiki/Romancelvania
