It is rumored that OUTER HEAVE is developing a terrifying slaughter weapon that could change the world’s warfare forever.
To investigate this rumor, GRAY FOX, one of “FOX HOUND” was sent to investigate information on this ultimate weapon.
However, a few days later, communication with GRAY FOX is lost. His last message was simply two muttered words “METAL GEAR…”
Does the disappearance of GRAY FOX relate with the rumors of the ultimate weapon…
Then the mission falls to the “FOX HOUND” unit once again.
This time “FOX HOUND” unit sends its newest member, SOLID SNAKE.
His mission is to rescue GRAY FOX and find out the true identity of "METAL GEAR" and destroy it.
SOLID SNAKE heads to his first battlefield alone, with only a transceiver.
It is said that finest mercenaries from all over the world have gathered at “OUTER HEAVEN”.
Will SOLID SNAKE accomplish his mission!?
The voice of “FOX HOUND” general commander BIG BOSS is heard from the transceiver.
“SOLID SNAKE! This is not training, it’s actual combat. Good luck…”
