Nuclear Throne Texture Pack Mod Showcase (Melting No Hit)
136This texture pack by Litos the Lithium got released today after about a year in the works, and according to the creator it's 98% done. It's made for u99r1 (the standard Steam version) and distributed as an exe file, but with a little effort I turned it into a mod that you can load with NTT.
This texture pack overhauls the appearance of Nuclear Throne and gives it a fresh new look, it's grittier and less cartoony than the game's original art style, which might or might not suit some people, but it's still a breath of fresh air.
My only complaint is that labs is way too dark, but still looks cool. Every other area looks amazing, and there's even some weapon redesigns. Character sprites have also been overhauled, and mutation icons have been reimagined. Some things remain to be done, such as Mom and Technomancer, but as is, the game looks completely different. Huge props to the artist.
I decided to showcase this with a short No Hit run. I died to a lightning crystal in 4-1 L1, but it still shows most of the new things. Areas that remain to be seen are Oasis, Mansion, Cursed Caves, Jungle, Crib, and HQ.

Note: This only seems to work on 100.017, there's probably some weird sprite in 9940 and 9944 that when replaced, crashes the game. I don't know which one it is. You can get NTT 100.017 through Steam betas.

My death screen looks weird because I have a custom one that relies on unused sprites, but because I loaded this mod it reverted to the original sprite. This is not an issue with the mod itself.
