Eine Stunde Gameplay von "DOOM 3 - BFG Edition", basierend auf "DOOM 3" aus dem Jahre 2004, einem First Person Shooter entwickelt von id Software und veröffentlicht von Bethesda weltweit für Playstation 3, Xbox 360 und Windows PC im Jahre 2012 mit einem Port für Nvidia Shield in 2015 so wie einer Version für Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4 und Xbox One in 2019, hier gezeigt in der PC Version der BFG-Edition.
Im Spiel spielt man einen Marine, der eine Invasion der Hölle in einer Basis auf dem Mars abwehren muss und sich dafür durch Horden von Dämonen und ehemalige, mittlerweile durch die Hölle transformierte Mitarbeiter schlagen muss.
Unüblich für die DOOM-Reihe war das Gesicht des Spielcharakters nicht nur von Anfang an nicht durch einen Held verdeckt und klar sichtbar, auch setzte die Reihe in DOOM 3 zum ersten Mal mehr auf Elemente aus dem Survival-Horror-Genre was zu deutlich langsamerem Gameplay führte im Gegensatz zur sonst üblichen schnellen und kompromisslosen Action aller DOOM-Teile davor und danach. Unnötig zu erwähnen, dass kein anderer Teil die Fangemeinde so aufspaltete wie dieser.

In the game you play as a Marine who has to defend a Mars base against an invasion from hell and fights his way through hordes of demons and former coworkers who have been transformed into hostile enemies by hell.
Unusual for the DOOM series was not only the circumstance that the player characters face is not covered by a helmet and clearly visible from the beginning of the game, but also that DOOM 3 as a first in the franchise leaned itself more towards elements from the survival horror genre which made for slower paced gameplay in contrast to the usually fast and action packed gameplay of all other DOOM entries before and afterwards. Needless to mention that no other part has split the community as this one.
