My name is Renegade and welcome to the Pokemon Mainline Retrospect. Where I go through every mainline Pokemon game, including Remakes, in order of release and see how good these games truly are. Last episode we took a look at Generation 2 - aka Gold, Silver & Crystal and came to the overall conclusion that they were really good games, but bogged down by being afraid to move away from Kanto & do it’s own thing. But if you’re looking for a way to get into Pokemon, they’re perfect starting games.

Today we’ll be discussing Pokemon Ruby, Sapphire & Emerald, also known as Generation 3. I won’t be talking about Fire Red & Leaf Green here, as I’d prefer to cover them as a separate video so that this isn’t 2 hours long. Those will be talked about in the next episode, so if you’re curious about how I feel about those, look out for that video. Before we begin however, let me of course run down how this will work for those who haven’t watched the last 2 videos. If you already know how this works or just don’t care, you can skip to the timestamp on screen now.
