In let's play Graveyard Keeper gameplay ep 8, we break open bookcases to get books, and get hold of paper to put into scientific research at the study table in the church basement. This science, along with faith, can be used to study everyday items to get red, green and particularly blue essence, something we've been unable to get so far.

We've also unlocked more of the tech tree, and can now spend points unlocking church improvements and the like. Ideally we want a church workbench, but that'll take a LOT of complex parts and iron smelting in this let's play Graveyard Keeper gameplay video.
