If you remember back when I first talked about the story of Godwyn, I mentioned that there was a dragon that attacked Leyndell and was bested by Gowdyn, but instead of taking the dragon's life, Godwyn befriended him.

That was Fortisax.

Fortisax became such a loyal friend to Godwyn that, ever since Godwyn's soul was slain, Fortisax remained with his friend and continued to battle the Deathblight that kept spreading, which eventually corrupted Fortisax himself, turning his scales black while sprouting Deathblight from his body too.

And causing Fortisax to take on the title "Lichdragon" while gaining the power to cast Deathblight with his lightning.

But this battle against the Deathblight was for nought, and so it was time to give Fortisax the eternal rest he so desperately earned.

This in turn allowed the Mending Rune of Death to be formed, but this too was at the cost of a life - Fia's life. Though in the end, D's brother came to finish the job anyway.

This whole questline ended in a bloody mess with no survivors. None except Godwyn, ironically.

And with this, Godwyn's tale is over for the most part, but who knows what the DLC holds...
