Hunting is good in part 3 of my Ivarstead hunting trip where I take Lydia along to stretch her legs (and serve as cannon fodder for the bear guarding the Honeystrand Cave). Then it's on into the cave itself alone to take care of two more bears. Later on, I uncover an Imperial camp, some ruins and a fourth bear who is paralyzed with fear at the very sight of Major Slack. :D

Okay, the paralysis potion kinda helped out a little bit.
